Welcome to the exciting adventure of Bible Stories! God has given us a very special book, The Holy Bible. The Bible tells us who God is and what we should know about Him and ourselves. I have selected chapters from many books of the Bible for you to read in order to be familiar with many of the stories God has written. You will read about creation, jealousy, murder, sibling rivalries, miracles, dreams, plagues, giant fish, betrayal, envy, deception, battles, invisible armies, angels, giants, kings and queens, foreign places, mountains and caves, floods, hail stones, horses, frogs, gnats, boats, chariots of fire, walls of water, snakes, lions, earthquakes and much, much more. All these stories will teach you about God—what He is like, what He expects from you, and what you can expect from Him. They will also reveal many things about you; God’s love for you in Christ, and also your sin and how you can be forgiven. The spiritual lessons taught in these stories will help you love and follow the Lord. As you faithfully read these chapters you will find that God will encourage you to believe, trust, and obey Him. You will also find comfort, love, forgiveness and acceptance as you repent of your sins and believe on Jesus.

Choose A Definite Time, Place, and Method

Every day is filled with things to do. Spending time with God each day is made easier if we have a definite TIME to read The Bible and pray, a particular PLACE to do this, and a definite METHOD or plan to follow.

TIME – Choose a definite time each day to do your reading and praying. For many people, the best time to read is first thing in the morning before the day gets started. For some, just before bedtime is best; and for others, before or after meals is better. You may want to do your reading before or after school. It does not matter what time you pick—just be sure to find the best time for you and stick to it!

PLACE – Having a definite place is a big help to stay on schedule with your Bible reading. Choose a quiet place where you can read without interruptions. Be sure this place has good lighting for reading and is available to you each day. A comfortable chair in your bedroom, the den or even in the basement may become your “special place”. Wherever your place is be sure to have your Bible, Schedule and a pencil or pen for taking notes.

METHOD – Following a definite method is very helpful in keeping your personal time of devotion with God. You can start with Genesis and read each chapter in succession until you finish with Acts, or you can read whatever book you want in what ever order you want—just be sure to finish all chapters in each book before starting to read another. It is also helpful if you record the date you read each chapter so you can tell where you left off and can see how long it takes you to complete the readings.

Note:

It will take you ten months to finish all the stories if you read one chapter every day; one year if you read one chapter six days each week; and sixty weeks if you read one chapter five days each week.
